Serves as a Special Assistant United States Attorney representing the government in United States District Court and other federal trial and appellate level courts on cases arising on the U.S.

Army Installation, Fort Riley, Kansas.

Caseload includes all federal crimes occurring on the Fort Riley military installation to include felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic related crimes.

Requires extensive time in court.
Incumbent is the subject matter expert on legal issues relating to juvenile and child welfare laws.
Determines and prepares discovery in compliance with the United States Attorney policy and federal rules. Reviews cases and evidence to determine charges and drafts charging documents.

Serves as the (CSRA) Supervisor for assigned legal staff to include civilian paralegals and judge advocates appointed as Special Assistant United States Attorneys.

Sets performance standards and reviews and evaluates performance.
Serves as a Command Ethics Counselor.

Provides advice to Commanders, Directors, and supervisors on a wide range of general administrative and civil law matters by interpreting statutes, regulations to ensure the command actions are in compliance with applicable authorities.

Responsible for all litigation stages of the criminal cases.
