Description:
The accounts payable clerk responsibilities include the processing of incoming invoices, but will perform routine accounting tasks, as needed.
- Review all invoices and check requests for appropriate documentation and approval, prior to payment.
- Process high volume 3-way match invoices (4,000 invoices per month for the 6-8 person team)
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
- Respond to all vendor inquiries.
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Assist in month-end closing.
- Assist with other projects as needed.
- Provide back-up support for other admin functions as needed.
Accounts Payable Processor performs a variety of responsibilities including the accurate and timely processing of invoices, scanning and uploading documents to systems and the preparation of journal entries, account analyses and reconciliations in accordance with company accounting policies.
- Enters invoices timely and accurately; high volume processing (50+ per day)
- Ensures proper approval of invoices in accordance with company payment approval policies
- Prepares required reports timely and accurately
- Corresponds with both internal and external customers, responding promptly to requests
- Processes mail, scans documents and completes filing
- Maintains department electronic and paper files
- Communicates effectively with AP team, AP lead and AP supervisor

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- 2+ years AP experience is the preference, but they are open to a sharp, entry level, with an accounting/finance degree.
- HS Diploma
- Excel
- SAP
- Strong work ethic, details oriented, professional demeanor, reliable.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge.
- Documentation, research, resolution, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
- Thorough knowledge of AP/General Ledger systems and procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid - only 3 days in office after training
