Duties

Serves as an Intelligence Operations Specialist for Cyber Intelligence to assess current and emerging cybersecurity and technology threats while working within a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) under the guidance of, and in support of the Division Manager and team leader as part of the Aviation Technical Intelligence (ATI) team within the Intelligence and Threat Analysis Division in the Office of National Security Programs and Incident Response at the Federal Aviation Administration. The Incumbent will perform multiple, varying, and complex assignments under limited direction of the manager, team leader, or more experienced cyber threat analysts.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Monitor and evaluate all-source intelligence and information to identify and assess potential cyber threats to FAA information systems, the National Airspace System (NAS), and civil aviation operations.Apply technical knowledge to develop and produce finished cyber threat intelligence products and assessments to support FAA senior leaders, policymakers, and the FAA cybersecurity community. Conduct trend analysis to inform mitigation planning, operational decision-making, and crisis management.Provide time-critical Indications and Warning (I&W) and Indicators of Compromise (IOC) for the FAA Security Operations Center (SOC), NAS Cyber Operations (NCO), systems security staff, and interagency partners to warn of and contribute to mitigation measures for protecting against cyber-attacks, emerging cyber threats and/or vulnerabilities.Develop and provide intelligence briefings to FAA executives and senior leaders on current and emerging cyber threats to establish a comprehensive cyber threat picture, support FAA's decision-making processes, and policy development.Develop and leverage diverse collaborative relationships within FAA Lines of Business, Department of Transportation (DOT), the Intelligence Community (IC) and other relevant national-level agencies to collaborate on and share information on cyber threats, risks and vulnerabilities potentially affecting the aviation ecosystem.Coordinate with aviation industry and foreign counterparts, as appropriate, to foster collaborative relationships and communicate timely and relevant intelligence information.Represent the organization in interagency working groups and effectively build and leverage diverse and collaborative networks to better understand emerging malicious cyber and physical threats and improve information sharing efforts.Support cyber strategy, policy, mitigation planning, and community messaging initiatives. Support exercise activities, committees, conferences, and other collaborative initiatives to effectively represent ASH, FAA, U.S. government, and aviation equities, as appropriate.Additional duties may entail night, weekend, and holiday duty in the event of surge, crisis, and/or staffing shortfalls, as needed, to support potential 24-hour/7-days a week agency operations.Perform other tasks as assigned.

US Citizenship is required. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents) Designated or Random Drug Testing required. Travel Required: 20% (Domestic Only)

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H, FG/GS-12 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS DEFINED AS:
Experience applying all-source intelligence to assess cyber threats from potentially hostile or illicit actors.Experience communicating and providing written and verbal assessments to executive leadership.
