Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13.

If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

As an Intelligence Operations Specialist (Cyber Counterintelligence), you will:

  • Assess the effectiveness of CI related activities across the Department.
  • Identify problems that directly affect the accomplishment of CI program goals and objectives and recommends alternatives and corrective actions.
  • Develop and coordinate proactive CI projects and activities to detect or exploit attempts by foreign intelligence entities (FIE) to target Treasury and its personnel.
  • Provide assessments on FIE cyber capabilities and activities and potential threats to and impact on Treasury information systems and operations.
  • Serve as a CI investigator for reports of CI anomalies or allegations of espionage.
