Student Experience Administrator, Experience Design & Management

The ExDM Student Experience Administrator (SEA) provides leadership and oversight in the design, staging, and management of the comprehensive student experience in EXDM from recruitment to alumni engagement. The SEA mentors the Experience Design Society (EXDS) to oversee student activities (e.g., recruitment, new student orientation, senior peak experience, networking events, and alumni and professional engagement). The SEA collects information about the student experience to help improve the quality of EXDM/MSB curriculum, programs, and services. The SEA also oversees EXDM initiatives to engage alumni and experience design professionals (e.g., advisory board, mentorship).

What you'll do in this position:

Provide leadership and support for the EXDS team:

· Mentor EXDS student leadership and oversee events and programs

· Provide vision and mission and support EXDS in designing and delivering society and department student experiences

· Support EXDS in recruiting great students

Serve as a liaison providing the voice of the student to the department:

· Manage key touchpoints along the student journey (e.g., New Student Orientation, Major Fair, Senior Spark)

· Provide feedback from students to department about student journey from recruitment to graduation.

· Create and systematically implement a voice of the student program

o Engage in continuous dialog with students while they're in the major and respond to their needs

o Identify student pain points and help EXDM address issues

o Report findings and recommendations to the EXDM associate chair

· Collaborate with internship director (adjunct faculty), professional teaching faculty and EXDM Career Director (BCC)

· Cultivate relationships with industry professionals and alumni-expanding professional opportunities for students.

· Develop and manage a professional mentorship program.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required: A firm commitment to the mission of BYU

Minimum education/experience required:

Bachelor's degree in an experience design related field and 1 year office or experience design work, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

Master's preferred ad 5 years' experience in experience design or related field

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:

Microsoft Office Suite basics required.

Managerial, budgeting, accounting, communication, networking skills, knowledge of the design thinking process and experience design tools and techniques preferred.
