Job Summary - Wealth Strategies Analyst (WSA) -
  • A Wealth Strategies Analyst supports Wealth Strategies Advisors and Specialists in developing and preparing existing and prospective clients' financial plans, analyses, and models, which may encompass investment, retirement, estate, gift and tax planning, and risk management. An Analyst works in conjunction with Wealth Strategies Advisors and Specialists to gather client data (e.g., estate planning instruments, assets, liabilities, income, and expenses) and produces targeted, specific analyses based on that data.
  • Job Description/Responsibilities:
    • Gather financial data from a variety of sources (clients, their advisors, and internal partners).
    • Review, analyze, summarize, and flowchart estate planning instruments.
    • Prepare and analyze balance sheets, financial projections, and transfer tax illustrations.
    • Research basic issues related to estate and financial planning including effectiveness of estate tax savings strategies, charitable planning, retirement planning, and investment issues.
    • Participate in internal and external client meetings where appropriate.
    • Administrative duties as needed.
  • Requirements:
    • Client Skills:
      • Interact with internal and external clients to gather necessary data.
      • Help set appropriate client expectations regarding scope and timing of deliverables.
    • Financial Planning Skills:
      • Basic understanding of a wide range of subject matters including income taxation, stock options, insurance, investments, retirement planning, and cash flow modeling.
    • Estate Planning Skills:
      • Basic understanding of the transfer tax system and core tax savings strategies such as annual gifts and GST trusts.
      • Familiarity with advanced concepts such as charitable and non-charitable split interest trusts (CRTs, CLTs, GRATs, QPRTs).
    • Software Skills:
      • Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
      • Various analytical and stochastic models.
    • Qualifications:
      • CFP or enrollment in a CFP program strongly encouraged.
      • JD, CPA, CFA, MST, CTFA, MBA (or progress thereto), or equivalent work experience a plus.
      • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
      • Strong analytical skills.
      • Strong written and oral communication.
