The Executive Director, Tax Operations is a senior leader within the tax team, reporting directly to the Head of Global Tax, Stock Administration & Payroll. This hands-on role is responsible for the worldwide tax provision, domestic & international tax compliance, global tax audits, and supporting and leading tax analysis of various strategic planning and business initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a commercial mindset and extensive experience with tax compliance, tax audits, and tax accounting and reporting under ASC 740 for a US-based multinational corporation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Lead and manage all aspects of quarterly and annual financial reporting for income taxes (e.g., global provision, footnote, FIN 48, FAS 5, APB23, ETR, etc.), including effective external auditor relationship management Provide forecasts and insight critical to Company decision-making, including effective tax rate and tax payment forecastsLead and oversee all aspects of the US federal, state and local income and indirect tax returns, franchise and other tax filings, and related domestic auditsLead analysis of the impact of special tax projects and tax planning initiatives, business changes, M&A transactions, proposed and enacted tax law, and preparing relevant materials and analysis for Company leadership and the BoardInfluence and effectively collaborate with key cross-functional partners and leadership in Accounting, Finance, Legal and Business teams to drive tax efficient outcomes of operations and key business and tax initiativesActively monitor US and international tax legislation and OECD pronouncements to ensure the Company remains compliantAssist with and lead international compliance and audit matters with internal resources and third party advisors, as requiredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 8-10 years of relevant experience at a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department of a multinational public or private companyBachelor's degree in accounting or BS or BA Degree in a relevant fieldMasters of Tax and/or CPA preferredExtensive experience ASC 740, internal controls, global tax compliance and audits as well as familiarity with purchase accounting and business integrationKnowledge of international tax concepts, including transfer pricing, a plusExceptional communication skills conveying complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals and the ability to effectively execute on complex, cross-functional business and tax initiativesA high level of executive presence and business acumen, with a keen commercial focusThe ability to meet tight deadlines and remain flexible in a fast-paced, growth company environmentStrong project management skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate cross-functionally and with multiple levels of management and executive leadershipAdvanced Microsoft Office skillsStrong verbal, written, interpersonal, technical communication and presentation skills WEBTOON is owned by South Korea's internet conglomerate Naver.
