Job Summary

The Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, & Systems Engineering (IMSE) in the College of Engineering (COE) at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor with tenure.

This faculty member will teach classes in the IMSE Department and should have a research interest related to some aspect of data science, such as operations research, statistics, or machine learning.

It is the policy of The University of Texas at Arlington to conduct a criminal background check on any applicant who is under final consideration for employment with the University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching IMSE classes.
Supervising IMSE Ph.
D. students' dissertations.
Publishing research papers, including some related to data science.
Obtaining funded research to support graduate students and research activities.
Participating with the COE Center on Stochastic Modeling, Optimization, & Statistics ).
Working with other UTA departments and with other universities in collaborative research projects.
Providing leadership in the IMSE Department and the COE.
Performing typical academic duties within the University, such as advising and committee work.

Providing external professional service, such as being active in professional societies, refereeing manuscripts for journals, and reviewing grant applications for various funding agencies.

Required Qualifications
A Ph.
D.

degree is required in an area related to data science, including degrees in operations research, industrial engineering, statistics, computer science, and mathematics.

Candidates should have a record of scholarship and teaching commensurate with an appointment as Associate Professor or Professor.
