Summary of the Role:
- Responsible for analyzing data from various sources to support Indirect Procurement efforts such as cost reductions, price management, compliance, category management, bid execution, and supplier management. Will be accountable for specific projects related to key Indirect Procurement performance indicators and metrics. Partners with global Procurement Management, Planners, Finance, Sourcing Managers, and others to support and leverage various initiatives and objectives.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Execute tasks as an independent self-starter that effectively adapts to changes and organizes activities to deliver expected results on time.
- Provide analytical and project support for cross-functional and cross-organizational sourcing initiatives.
- Develop category analytics and market insights to help Procurement manage costs.
- Effectively collate, interpret, validate, and present data from multiple sources.
- Work closely with project sponsors to define scope, objectives, and deliverables to complete projects on time.
- Effectively communicate project related updates to project sponsors.
- Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Diligently prioritize projects while keeping in mind importance, value creation, and time commitment.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
- Develop and implement improvements to existing processes.
- Prepare and provide presentations to internal and external customers.
- Ability to work effectively in multifunctional, global teams.
Requirements (Experience, Qualifications, Skills):
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a technical degree. Extensive years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 2+ years of analytics experience.
- Flexibility to handle simultaneous requirements and tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and imperfect data in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to integrate business acumen with technical skills.
- Excellent analytical, project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent PC skills in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and SharePoint.
Considered a plus:
- Understanding of negotiating strategy, competitive bid process, source selection, and freight terms.
- Project experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong SAP, BOBJ, or Ariba knowledge.
