About the team

The Database and Middleware team, part of the wider Infrastructure Services organization provides the on-premises and public cloud database and middleware services that underpin and serve many of our payment platforms and critical back-office applications to Worldpay.

What you will be doing

As the Head of Database and Middleware, you'll bring a depth of experience required to manage a large-scale complex environment that has stringent uptime requirements to support our diverse payments platforms. Worldpay powers 2.2 trillion payments annually across 146 countries in over 135 separate currencies with over a million-merchant supported globally.

As a senior leader, with 10+ years leadership experience in this field, you'll lead teams across the US, EMEA and APAC regions to provide a best-in-class service to our internal and external client base. This is a senior leadership role, we're looking for an exceptional person to demonstrate that they can lead our diverse and very talented teams, whilst both delivering and transforming our Database and Middleware platforms to provide a modern automated and highly reliable environment.

As an experienced leader, you'll bring strong stakeholder management, solid technical background and experience, and customer engagement to work within an Infrastructure as a Service organization that is currently going through a transition to modernize and provide best-in-class technology to Worldpay.

  • Globally Accountable for the Database and Middleware platforms at Worldpay.
  • 10+ Years experience working in a similar sized and regulated environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate at different levels.
  • Solid technical background; Oracle, SQL, DB2 (Mainframe)
  • Technical ownership of the service throughout its lifecycle
