Senior Technical Accountant

This person will be joining a large Global Cloud Data Platform provider to support their accounting team from a Senior Technical Accounting perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of ASC to prepare and analyze monthly software capitalization and amortization schedule for internal R&D software development projects and prepare related journal entries during the monthly close process.
- Calculate monthly average hourly cost per engineer used in software capitalization.
- Update Investment Area Capitalization Decision Tracker based on discussions with the Product Engineering team.
- Assist with SEC matters, particularly during the quarter end.
- Monitor new U.S. GAAP accounting standards and exposure drafts and assess their impact on the Company's financial statements.
- Perform the research and resolution of significant and/or non-routine transactions and draft technical accounting memos.
- Contribute to various department and organizational special or ad-hoc projects as assigned.
