This person will be joining a large Global Cloud Data Platform provider to support their accounting team from a Sr Technical Accounting perspective.
Responsibilities:
Working knowledge of ASC to prepare and analyze monthly software capitalization and amortization schedule for internal R&D software development projects and prepare related journal entries during the monthly close process.
Calculate monthly average hourly cost per engineer used in software capitalization.
Update Investment Area Capitalization Decision Tracker based on discussions with the Product Engineering team.
Assist with SEC matters, particularly during the quarter end.
Monitor new U.S. GAAP accounting standards and exposure drafts and assess their impact on the Company's financial statements.
Perform the research and resolution of significant and/or non-routine transactions and draft technical accounting memos.
Contribute to various department and organizational special or ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Skills:
Public accounting, gaap accounting, sec reporting, accounting, ms excel, Audit, Reconciliation, Reporting, monthly variance analysis, amortization
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
3+ years experience in a Technical Accounting role in a Public Accounting setting
