The Software Delivery team in Secure DevOps Platforms is hiring a DevOps Sr Software Engineer to help us enable the next generation of CI/CD capabilities at Liberty Mutual.

This position will be a member of our pipeline enablement team, leading the development and supporting the adoption across LM of CI/CD pipelines.

Software Delivery is on a journey to provide modern, secure, and delightful experiences for developers using our CI/CD pipelines.

The person in this role will be a leader on the pipeline enablement team, influencing the strategy and solutions used to provide our next generation pipeline offerings.

Ideal candidates will be passionate about improving the developer experience, have a deep understanding of CI/CD and how these technologies are evolving, and a dedicated focus on iterative software development techniques that enable rapid feedback.


This is a Software Engineer/Senior Software Engineer range posting. The actual internal level/grade and compensation for this role will depend on the candidate's geographic location, overall experience, and skill level.

Responsibilities

  • Improve upon and further integrate the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC) into product design and engineering efforts
  • Empower secure-by-default development by shipping libraries and frameworks that address classes of vulnerabilities at scale
  • Assist with code reviews to proactively identify potential vulnerabilities, and follow-up with tooling to prevent future vulnerabilities
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with developers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of cyber security best practices in support of product and commercial software development.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 (or more) years of software engineering experience
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional engineering and product teams
  • Experience with Python or Node/Typescript, AWS Lambda, and API gateway in a production scenario
  • Must have hands-on experience in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment (Jenkins, Bamboo, or equivalent)
  • Experience with GitHub Actions and GitHub Advanced Security is preferred but not required
  • Ability to troubleshoot to establish a go-forward solution
Soft Skills

  • Excellent negotiation, facilitation and consensus-building capabilities

  • Proficiency in multiple object-oriented programming languages and tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Education

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
