Support the Military's Quality of Life programs The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Base Kitsap Bangor.
Duties

Serves as the Supervisory Recreation Specialist for the Navy Region Northwest, Fleet and Family Readiness Program, Fleet Readiness Division. The primary purpose of the position is to plan, administer and supervise a comprehensive and diverse year round aquatics program.
- Plans, administers, promotes and supervises a comprehensive year round aquatics program that includes but is not limited to: swim instruction program, lifeguard and water safety instructor training program, CPR/First Aid/ AED instruction, assistance with physical readiness training, aqua group exercise, facility rental and special programming.
- Manages the care and maintenance of the aquatic facilities and associated equipment. Ensures facilities and equipment meet health, safety, security, sanitation and fire standards. Takes remedial action as applicable to correct deficiencies. Complies with all safety regulations regarding use of chemical and sanitation agents related to the care of a pool. Determines and procures necessary supplies and equipment in order to operate/support the pools and programs.
- Performs administrative matters to include but not limited to: development of the annual calendar, marketing requests/plans, after action reports, desk guides, procurement documents, program justifications, metric and financial reports, etc.
- Develops and monitors the execution of the annual NAF operating budget. Determines financial requirements for short and long term needs, analyzes monthly financial data and submits reports to management addressing significant variances between executed and projected results.
- Recruits, interviews and hires personnel. Evaluates work performance and prepares performance appraisals, nominates personnel for performance and other awards.
- Promotes the use of the facility and programs for maximum participation on an ongoing basis, through attending community meetings, marketing materials and maintaining a presence in the operation.
- Monitors customer feedback. Establishes and maintains a working relationship with other military and community organizations that benefit the program. Acts as a resource.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
