About the role:

As a Product Market Fit & Growth Expert for Start-up Technology Company CEO clients, you will be a trusted advisor who guides Gartner clients in the technology industry to solve complex challenges and deliver on key priorities.

You will provide insights and recommendations on optimal approaches for penetrating the market with a unique value proposition, market positioning, product strategy, pricing, partnerships, and other go-to-market priorities to achieve Product-Market Fit (PMF) and establish foundations for scale and growth.

A Senior Director serves as a leader within Gartner Research and Advisory, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional, and global levels. Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, a Senior Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative research that Gartner clients apply to propel their business.

What we are looking for:

  • A successful track record in developing and implementing startup to scaleup strategies that accelerate revenue growth beyond market fit and other early startup milestones.
  • Experience building a high-performing team to accelerate growth, achieve product-market fit, and establish foundations for the scaleup stage of growth
  • A vision for how CEOs can propel their businesses forward through expansion strategies and growth bets.
  • An excellent understanding of the business economics of financing and fundraising strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and persuasion skills to apply Gartner's research to client situations, and often challenge clients to adjust their priorities.

What you will do:

  • Conduct research to develop actionable and objective insight targeting tech CEOs and their teams.
  • Create unique, thought-provoking, actionable, and highly leveraged "must-have research" content through various media.
  • Advise tech CEOs and founders on scaling the business and prioritizing investments.
  • Help first time founders and tech CEOs to develop tools to establish and scale their organizations.
  • Help experienced founders to stay ahead of emerging innovations in product strategy, go to market approaches, and business management.
  • Help tech CEO's develop tools to establish and scale their organizations.
  • Develop in-depth analysis to identify and diagnose the root cause of a client's barriers or overall needs and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward
  • Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their designated content area via virtual or face-to-face interactions
  • Work collaboratively with a globally distributed team of analysts establishing research positions.
  • Bring provocative, independent insights that can evolve the research agenda
  • Create and deliver high-value presentation materials on and off stage for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings
  • Be client-centric while actively seeking to help clients engage regularly and often with Gartner research and interactions

What you will need:

  • 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Direct, recent experience as a Startup Tech CEO or founder is highly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area as well as the interplay in that market
  • Strong communicator who is able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply
  • A desire and ability to write effectively and succinctly.
  • Intellectual agility, curiosity, courage to push boundaries
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills
  • Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data
  • Ability to work independently, while also collaborating across teams and supporting the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Learning agile and adept at navigating highly matrixed environments

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 150,000 USD - 190,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. We also offer market leading benefit programs including generous PTO, a 401k match up to $7,200 per year, the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount, and more.
