What is the job about?

Grundfos CBS Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join its Commercial Building Services Americas team in Brookshire, Texas. The Quality Manager will be responsible for providing technical and quality support to the organization by utilizing modern practices and techniques with concentration on production support, warranty reduction, and new product introduction. The Quality Manager will be in charge of supervising the production process to make sure that all products meet consistent standards. This position reports directly to the Regional Operations Director, CBS Americas and will operate daily out of the Brookshire, TX facility. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Providing quality support to the production support teams.
  • Assisting in developing, implementing and sustaining quality systems and practices.
  • Acting as an effective member of cross-functional teams to improve products, processes, and services, and to reduce costs.
  • Leading/facilitating cross-functional teams in utilizing systematic process improvement techniques and support of lean implementation.
  • Providing statistical process control, PFMEA, and design of experiments expertise; assisting in implementing control plans, charts, and capability studies.
  • Developing and implements continuous improvement program for internal process and throughout supply chain. Providing feedback and requires corrective actions to enhance supplier partnerships and meet/exceed quality requirements.
  • Monitoring and regularly reports on product quality and reliability; provideing timely feedback to the appropriate functions for corrective / preventive actions.
  • Assisting in new/modified product design at the NPI stages to ensure quality and reliability of the product.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's Degree or above in Mechanical/Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or a combination of training, education and experience. Additionally, have a minimum of 10 years direct work experience in quality training and practices, ideally with a pump manufacturer.

  • Superior proficiency using PC based tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and proficiency using SAP, ERP and MRP systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding, and working knowledge, of Quality Tools (PFMEA, Pareto, 8D, Ishikawa, 5S, Kaizen, Control Charts).
  • Experience in implementing and utilizing measurement systems analysis, statistical process control, process capability, DOE, and other quality techniques
  • Proven ability to efficiently lead and complete improvement projects in a team setting.
  • Internal auditing experience (certifications preferred).
  • Effective communication, analytical, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment with a sense of urgency while maintaining a respectful disposition.
  • Ability to interact respectfully, effectively and professionally with customers and co-workers.
  • Understating of Lean Manufacturing Techniques and 5S.
  • The individual must have advanced oral and written communication skills in the English language and be willing to work in a cooperative team environment.
  • Proficient with measuring equipment, blue-print reading, and process improvement techniques.
  • Experienced in ISO 9001 (Lead Auditor certification strongly desired).
