Financial Consultant - The Auto Club Group

What you will do:

Provides expert financial advice, guidance and counsel supporting business objectives and decisions. Researches, evaluates and interprets financial data using advanced and emerging financial techniques and tools. Responsible for providing consulting services to internal customers through participation on projects or corporate initiatives. Acts as the primary liaison with assigned business project teams to ensure successful achievement of project objectives and goals. Develops, designs, tests and documents system changes or upgrades. Coordinates with various departments in preparation for services provided by external organizations (i.e. bench marking, exams, audits, etc).

Responsible for complex reconciliation between General Ledger and Subledger systems. Establishes, documents, creates, and tests policies and procedures pertaining to internal financial controls. Acts as the primary liaison with assigned business partners to ensure successful achievement of objectives and goals.

Work Environment

This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.

Financial Consultants will earn a competitive salary of $73,000 to $95,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)

Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.

Experience:

  • equivalent to a senior position within Finance/Accounting or other related fields
  • developing complex financial models using macros and other advanced spreadsheet applications (i.e. EXCEL) and experience using other software applications and/or reporting tools (i.e. Microsoft Office providing oversight to less senior employees in the quality of work product
  • analysis of technical issues and complex financial data and developing sound conclusions
  • the design and implementation of medium to large projects
  • problem identification and resolutions techniques

Experience and Skills

  • understand complex integrated business processes and financial systems
  • prepare complex journal entries
  • prepare complex account analysis and general ledger reconciliations
  • experience in using automated accounting systems
  • strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Knowledge and Skills:

  • analyze complex financial data
  • develop and implement new financial analytical and reporting systems
  • Communicate effectively with others in a work environment
  • prepare and present written and oral reports
  • Strong organizational, planning, time management and administrative skills demonstrated through work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to present complex information in a clear and understandable manner to all levels of employees including senior executives.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • Understanding ofloss accounting as relates to P&C Insurance
  • Experience reconciling claim payments
  • Experience implementing third party vendor payment systems for claim payments
    • Documenting requirements and process workflows
    • Participating in UAT
  • Experience using Cadency or TRecs reconciliation software
