Job Summary

The Work Study Student will support the Lane Library Circulation Desk as a Library Assistant on the Armstrong Campus beginning Spring 2024.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities
  • Runs campus errands
  • Assists administrative staff
  • Monitors facilities and performs general administrative tasks
  • Offers prompt and friendly customer service in person, via chat, and over the phone
  • Aids in providing books, laptops, and other media equipment to library patrons
  • Reserves items for library patrons
  • Assists patrons with using computers, printers, scanners, and copiers
  • Assists staff with basic equipment maintenance and special projects
  • Helps with shelving, shelf-reading, and material retrieval
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using the Libraries' website and computer systems
  • Assists in promoting and conducting outreach activities for the Libraries

Shift Specifics

  • Up to 25 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Must be Federal Work eligible.

Proposed Salary

$10.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
