We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking project manager – with rail or transit experience - to join our established and growing team in New York.

You will provide expert technical advice and leadership support to Delivery Teams, creating a culture of ownership, promoting roles and responsibilities.

This role will support and provide engineering and construction support to one or more managers within a group, office or project.

You'll be responsible for:

Develops, implements and reviews project plans, schedules and budgets consistent with operational and stakeholder needs.
Manages and monitors project cost and schedules, reports progress.
Collaborates with external partners and hold teams accountable for requirements as outlined in project agreements.
Collaborates with internal partners to ensure force account coverage is in place and in-line with agreements.
Consolidates, communicates and manages all issues and risks affecting the project, and ensure the timely communication of project status to project participants and stakeholders.
Ensures project progress by measuring the variance in scope, schedule, cost and quality from the respective baselines and take necessary action to address deviations.
Identifies, documents and supervises the evaluation of changes based on cost, schedule, risk and scope impacts.
Ensures appropriate packet of relevant information to support appropriate project change and change control request decision processes.
Works with senior leaders to contribute relevant data to support annual planning activities.
Provides financial project performance and forecasting reports to senior executives Identify and evaluate the risks associated with project activities and work across organization to establish and monitor mitigation plans.
Establishes collaborative partnership among stakeholders to enable scoping, financial and resource decisions.
Develops and maintains required project management artifacts in accordance with Amtrak Project Management standards and applicable regulations.

Decision rights: Project directors are accountable for project outcomes. They are consulted across project activities and provide approval for project decisions. They should consult with their manager (program director or AVP of program) on any major decision points likely to impact project outcomes.

You'll need to have:

New York/New Jersey specific experience required.
Senior level heavy civil/rail project (>$100 M) management experience with strong focus on collaboration, team building, and driving on-time and on-budget project completion.
Mastery level program management practitioner with strong focus on collaboration, team building and customer service.
Mastery knowledge of competitive procurement processes and regulations.
Mastery with independent judgment and make solid business decisions within scope of the program.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project/Primavera)
Bachelor's degree with relevant work experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
CCM or PMP preferred.
Public agency experience (MNRR, LIRR, NTA, NJIT, Amtrak) required.
Experience in the construction industry as a resident or assistant resident engineer
30hr OSHA training required at minimum.

You'll also have:

Amtrak, MTA, NJIT, LIRR, MNRR experience preferred.
