Requirements

Program Coordinator, MS in Environment and International Affairs – Georgetown University

Job Overview

The Program Coordinator fulfills student services and administrative responsibilities of the MS in Environment and International Affairs (MS-EIA) program, a joint venture among the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GSAS) , the Earth Commons Institute (ECo) , and the Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) . Duties include but are not limited to commitment to student success as part of an equitable and diverse community; academic planning, and administration; providing admissions support to applicants as well as academic affairs / student services to enrolled students; co-curricular and faculty support; event planning and execution; and general administrative operations for the program.

The Program Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for all students and is responsible for day-to-day, on-the-ground activities to manage and maintain a successful and vibrant program; and works closely with the program team to implement policies and procedures and to evaluate initiatives designed to enhance the student experience.

Specific duties include but are not limited to leading the MS-EIA registration process; auditing students' degree progress; preparing grade reports and class ranks; and developing and executing program events, including New Student Orientation. The Program Coordinator also works closely with other academic units and participates in program review.

Work Interactions

Reporting directly to the Program Director of MS-EIA for day-to-day operations, and with dotted line reporting to Associate Director of Interdisciplinary Programs in GSAS, the Program Coordinator is the main point of contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding the day-to-day execution of the MS-EIA program.

As well, they work closely with faculty and with all functional areas within the GSAS Dean's Office, Eco. and colleagues in SFS. Because they support all aspects of MS-EIA student affairs, in addition to working under the supervision of the Program Director, they also liaise significantly with the MS-EIA Associate Director for Marketing and Recruitment, and with the Career Services Director.

While the Program Coordinator does not have direct reports, though may occasionally manage student workers hired by the Program.
