JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Radiology Informatics is accountable for overseeing the planning, organizing and optimization of work processes related to all imaging applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Plans, designs, implements, and maintains work processes for imaging applications that are used to deliver quality imaging services in a timely, accurate, cost-efficient way that is compliant with established System and regulatory standards, and defined policies and procedures.
  • Manages requests, reviews requirements and specifications and works closely with the technical teams and end-users to assure high quality imaging information systems. Identifies and helps with planning for and developing departmental-specific requirements for future product acquisitions.
  • Monitors performance to ensure systems are operating in a fast and reliable way. Suggests alternatives for performance improvement that ensure connectivity between imaging modalities and PACS.
  • Manages problem resolution, change requests and new implementations to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Acts as a Radiology liaison to other departments and ensures effective communication with clinical stakeholders, vendors, and team members.
  • Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with physicians and other medical departments to gather and exchange information and implement solutions to problems.
  • Assists in developing, reviewing, revising, submitting, and implementing policies, procedures and goals that support Department and System targets. Ensures that all necessary documentation (i.e., procedures, processes) is properly completed.
  • Performs all leadership functions to include staff planning and coverage, hiring, goal setting, performance evaluations, training, and career development. Conducts multidisciplinary staff meetings to ensure consistent and timely communication throughout the department and that the Vision, Mission, Values and Goals of the organization are implied and adhered to.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Must maintain current knowledge of imaging trends, techniques, protocols, procedures and maintain skills on equipment.
  • Knowledge of modality imaging software to help users and troubleshoot problems.
  • Utilizes excellent time and project management skills as well as organizational and personal skills to work with a variety of people.
  • Successfully lead a team through making operational options, setting defined quality and productivity standards, setting measurable goals for employees and project teams, etc.
  • Able to use broader goals to establish how best to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
