Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
Serve as initial contact, via phone and office visits from students, faculty, and staff and direct them to the appropriate person(s) according to their needs.
Monitor office space, supplies and inventory for Destination Graduation personnel and offices.Assist new team members in team/University processes and securing phone/data/email.
Assist team members in establishing/implementing strategies to improve student retention.
Create and maintain a filing system and a master calendar of events.
Provide information to students, faculty, and staff on Destination Graduation and Student Success Center programs and initiatives.
Monitor and maintain Program budget and expenses utilizing Banner and Excel, while in accordance with DSU fiscal operating guidelines and procedures; Participate in workshops and trainings on campus and off campus.
Prepare departmental requisitions/staff travel, and monitor requisitions and travel from Center divisions to ensure completed properly and funds available.Work closely with Student Success Center team, academic departments and administrative offices to ensure a quality, streamlined approach to Destination Graduation.
Hire, train, and supervise student employees and volunteers.Assist in preparation and maintenance of program reports.
Collaborate with team members to plan and implement strategies to improve DSU student retention.
Serve as the assistant to the Destination Graduation staff, handling logistical, schedule, and administrative matters.
Follow guidelines with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) as they pertain to the students' rights to privacy and accuracy and retention of academic records.
Perform other duties as assigned related to the retention of DSU students.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience in higher education preferred.
Strong commitment and understanding of diverse populations.
Experience in supervising students.
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and new media (such as websites, and social media); with Banner and Canvas experience preferred.
Demonstrated record of:
Strong leadership, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a changing, evolving department.
Integrity and commitment to developing and maintaining the highest academic standards and working with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
Plan and budget time wisely, be detail-oriented and motivated to take initiative; andKnowledge of test-taking strategies, time management and study techniques.
Must be a United States citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Salary Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university's resources.
