BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Material & Process Engineer with a passion for engineering and the desire to be part of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for supporting industry-leading navigation products.
In our Navigation & Sensor Solutions Hardware Engineering department, you will become part of a Component & Material Engineering Team supporting all Military GPS Products.
In this role, you will:Provide technical expertise to Engineers and Manufacturing to resolve issues regarding materials, material processes, technical challenges and root cause investigationsResponsible for analyzing new materials, reviewing data, and designing experiments to test new materials and processesResponsible for introducing, documenting, and maintaining material processesProvides technical support in the resolution of complex material and process issues in design and manufacturing environmentProvide technical expertise to evaluate 2nd level interconnect solder joint reliabilityWork with technicians in the Material and Component Evaluation Lab using state of the art equipment to evaluate materials, components, assemblies and complete failure analysis effortsWho you are:You possess good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and assignmentsYou possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills (Customers, Peers, Management and Suppliers)You're willing to put in the time and effort it takes to get the job done Our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Must have a degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) disciplineMust have 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor's of Science or 2+ years of experience with a Masters of Science degreeFamiliar with manufacturing processes used in Electronic assembliesExperience with Failure Analysis US CitizenMust be capable of obtaining a U.S. DoD Secret security clearancePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Candidates with Bachelor's degree in Material Engineering , Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Experience with Electronics Manufacturing Materials and ProcessesExpertise in several of these manufacturing processes: adhesives, potting, curing, chemicals and solderingFamiliarity with PWB MaterialsFamiliarity with IPC and JEDEC standardsFamiliarity with 2nd level interconnect solder joint reliabilityFamiliarity with using lab equipment TMA, FTIR, XRF, Tensile tester, SEM, CT-XrayPay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $142600

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
