The director provides strategic vision and leadership to drive transformation in health care delivery to solve healthcare information problems. As a leader, builds strong relationships to promote a collaborative Health System culture that is committed to quality services. This position represents informatics in strategic, project, operational meetings, and decisions across the health system.

The Health System director is an innovative leader with vision, knowledge and skills to leverage informatics to facilitate and optimize outcomes across the Health System.

Responsibility includes the leadership, consultation, and coordination of informatics and integration of those processes with Health System wide technical strategies.

The director applies the power and potential of technology and informatics to support the delivery of expert care, enhancing the effectiveness of the Health System and transforming practice.

Empowerment of clinicians with the knowledge, tools, and skills to analyze and use information and data to innovate and support change.

Facilitation for the creation, structure, storage, delivery, exchange, interoperability and use of clinical information. Leads the design, standardization and use of technologies to advance practice and achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Influence:
Demonstrates leadership skills within the Informatics department, across the Health System, and among the industry and community.

Manages the designated in Health System informatics service area within the Informatics program according to defined standards, assuring appropriate utilization of resources as identified and implemented to achieve organizational goals effectively and efficiently.

Provides leadership for operational planning, projects, enhancements and implementations of designated systems related to the designated support department. Works with departmental leadership to set goals, priorities, and escalate issues as appropriate. Influences and resolves differences across organizational boundaries; gains support and commitment from others. Role models exceptional Informatics skills.

Communication:
Able to establish straightforward, productive relationships with individuals and teams across the organization. Able to explain complex concepts in language that is easily understood by individuals from diverse disciplines. Demonstrates excellent facilitation skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

High School Diploma Bachelor's degree in Nursing KS and MO Nursing Licenses or Certification as appropriate for degree Minimum of three (3) years clinical care experience Minimum of five (5) years Informatics experience Minimum of three (5) years management experience Previous project management experience Literature search/review experience.

Ability to innovate solutions to complex problems Excellent communication, writing, Health System, facilitation and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with multidisciplinary and leadership teams Ability to manage several high priority projects simultaneously. Advanced working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, software and databases. Demonstrates persistence in solving problems.

Valid Driver's License Ability to travel to various locations Preferred:
Master's Degree in position related field Experience in software(s) that team will support Nursing Informatics, HIMSS or Certified Data Management Professional Certification as appropriate for role/degree
