Position Overview:

Are you an insurance subject matter expert looking to have direct impact on the mortgage market? We are looking for an individual with subject matter expertise in the hazard, flood, and title insurance professions. We are looking for a quick learner, comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, capable of performing research which results in writing policy, and communicating with both internal and external partners.

Our Impact:
  • Our team is responsible for managing collateral risk by developing insurance policy which is communicated through the Freddie Mac Selling Guide
  • We collaborate with internal and external partners to develop hazard, flood, and title insurance policies
  • We monitor current trends in the market to ensure our policies effectively manage risk for Freddie Mac
Your Impact:
  • Develop new policies and refine existing policies to manage risks associated with hazard insurance, flood insurance, and title insurance
  • Participate in developing solutions in support of our mission objective of equitably providing liquidity, stability, and affordability to the housing market
  • Collaborate with and serve as corporate liaison with external partners including, but not limited to:
  • American Land Title Association (ALTA)
  • Insurance Services Office
  • Insurer rating companies such as AM Best Company, S&P Global, and Demotech, Inc.
  • Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
  • National Association of Insurance Commissioners
  • Vendors who provide Insurance Services to our seller/servicers
  • Represents Freddie Mac in state, regional, national, or international forums related to insurance such as the National Flood Insurance Conference
  • Ensure Freddie Mac is in compliance with and enforcement of federal statutes related to insurance (e.g., National Flood Insurance Reform Act of 1994 as amended, Homeowners Protection Act of 1998 as amended, etc.)
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of related professional experience in property and casualty insurance (property insurance)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSE) insurance requirements
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
