Arthrex is actively searching for a Supervisor, QC - ACT who will oversee, manage, and provide direction to the QC Inspection & Calibration department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the efforts of the Quality Control and Calibration personnel to maintain efficient workflow, work assignments, and throughput standards.
- Schedule work assignments and assign tasks. Observe work as it is performed to ensure it is done properly and safely.
- Ensure QC Inspectors and Calibration specialists are trained in all inspection equipment, techniques, and Work Instructions.
- Ensure adequate Train-The-Trainer resources to comply with competency training requirements.
- Applies advanced metrology knowledge, practices and coaches programming principles.
- Work with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that all acceptance criteria, configurations, and programs are accurate.
- Implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the team's performance (Safety, Productivity, and Quality of Work) and initiate necessary actions to maintain performance.
- Confer with supervisors from other departments to coordinate operations and activities and meet with managers or subordinates to resolve issues.
- Identify equipment and gages needed to adequately perform inspections required by Inspection Plans,and report those needs to Quality Management.
- Oversee calibration of new and existing equipment, including coordination of external calibration suppliers.
- Identify Quality Control staffing needs to support the business needs and communicate to Quality Management
- Support compliance with the Arthrex Employee Resource Guide (ERG) and Human Resources standards for employee behaviors.
- Maintain compliance and execute all internal policies, procedures, and related paperwork under ISO/FDA guidelines.
- Evaluate employees through performance reviews.
- Identify Calibration resource needs and provide input to budgetary planning.
- Responsible for initiating change requests within Arthrex's Management of Change system for Receiving Inspection and Calibration related activities.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork with other departments to ensure the effective execution of the quality system.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required. Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred.
- 5 years experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance positions required.
- 2 years or more of supervision is preferred.
- 5 years of experience performing Receiving Inspection Activities which includes operation/programming of CMMs, and proficiency with mechanical and electronic test equipment.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Knowledge of testing equipment and applicable national standards relating to testing (i.e., ASTM standards, etc). Familiarity with operating test and inspection equipment used in Quality Control. Familiarity with applicable federal, military, FDA, ISO, ASME, and EN specifications. Has superior knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Proficiency in the use of PC, MS-Office and programs, SAP or equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
