Job Summary:

Christus Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI scans for interpretation by radiologists. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, utilizing your technical skills and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI scans on patients, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Operate MRI equipment, adjusting parameters to meet patient needs and ensuring patient safety.
  • Provide quality care to patients, prioritizing their safety and comfort.
  • Manage patient flow, obtaining pertinent medical information and data.
  • Perform QA/QC in accordance with ACR guidelines, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Start, maintain, and remove IVs and power injectors, as needed.
  • Administer contrast media, monitoring patient reactions and taking appropriate action.
  • Use vital signs monitoring equipment for critical patients.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT certification in MRI, with one year to complete certification for new hires.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • IV certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-year MRI experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of MRI procedures, equipment, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and patient care skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to various body fluids and magnetic fields.
  • Lifts, transfers, and positions patients and equipment in excess of 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Supervision:

  • Responsible to Radiology Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and Charge MRI Technologist.
