Summary About the Position:

About the Position: Serves as a first-line supervisor responsible for implementing Department of Defense (DOD) and Military Entrance Processing Command (MEPCOM) policies and procedures for administration of the DOD Military Personnel Testing Program.

Independently plans and carries out assignments within the scope of applicable regulations, Command Headquarters (HQ) guidance, Sector guidance, and Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) Commander policies.

Responsibilities Provide managerial and supervisory oversight of the overall testing administration at the MEPS. Provide initial and on-going training for MEPS testing personnel and Intermittent Test Administrators (ITA). Ensure only authorized and properly trained personnel handle accountable test material. Develop testing schedule that provides optimal access for customers at MEPS and MET Sites and other remote testing sites.

Oversees testing staff to ensure proper test administration, test scoring, and record processing to include all tests administered by ITAs.

Ensure that CAT-ASVAB and special purpose tests are accomplished IAW appropriate regulations and guidelines from the special purpose test proponent.

Review and inspects MET sites and evaluates performance of ITAs at specified intervals. Close supervision over all phases of test material receipt, storage, control, transfer, issue, administration, scoring, and destruction.

Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes using concepts and principles related to standardized testing practices for administration and control of test environments for computer adaptive testing and automated scoring equipment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).


OR Education:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education or Information Technology.


OR Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.

Add the two percentages.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education and Training Leadership Managing Human Resources Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07)

Education FOREIGN EDUCATION:

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S.
