Position Overview
The Department of Educational Psychology, College of Education and Human Development, University of Minnesota invites nominations and applications for an instructional leader in School Psychology. This is a full-time, 9-month lecturer position in a nationally recognized program within a highly regarded department and college of a major research university, renewable dependent on available funding. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Additional benefits of the position may include post-doctoral supervision toward licensure.

Job Responsibilities
The person who fills this position will be responsible for providing instruction and supervision in the School Psychology Program; providing administrative support for the school psychology program under the direction of program faculty or the chair; and contributing to the missions of the department and college.

Teaching (70-80%)

  • Teaching 18-24 credits (typically at least 9-12 credits per semester 18-24 total credits per year with appropriate student credit loads) of undergraduate and graduate-level school psychology coursework including, but not limited to, data-based decision making, intervention, and psychoeducational assessment in a variety of domains including: academic, cognitive, behavioral, social-emotional development; scientific bases of psychology; and practicum didactics and supervision.
  • Dependent on research experience, providing research and academic advising to MA/specialist students.
  • Engaging in professional development and incremental program evaluation efforts in school psychology to enhance teaching, advising, and administrative work.

Service (20-30%)

  • Collaborating with program, department, and college administrative staff to support degree, licensure/credential, and accreditation processes.
  • Participating in School Psychology faculty meetings, department meetings, and other department or collegiate committees as assigned.
  • Other administrative and student support duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, recruitment, supporting admission and annual review processes; undergraduate, MA/specialist, and doctoral student remediation and retention, and-when linked to teaching and supervision efforts-appropriate community engagement and outreach.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in School Psychology from an APA-accredited program by start date.
  • MN School Psychology license, or eligibility for and plan to obtain by start date.
  • Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, by the MN Board of Psychology. Post-doctoral supervision can be provided if necessary.
  • School-based experience providing school psychological services in general and special education (e.g., practica, internship, or P12 employment).
  • Familiarity with state and national school psychology requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to an anti-racist scientist-practitioner orientation .
  • Capacity to work cooperatively with others within the program, department, college, university, and community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of undergraduate and graduate instruction, supervision, and mentoring.
  • Teaching and service experience in a university setting.
  • Experience working in the areas of prevention, intervention, consultation, and special education evaluation and services for P12 students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Experience advising and/or supervising school psychology trainees in the field.
