What's the role?

As a Network Engineer, you are responsible for operating, designing, and running one or more global network services. Your focus will be on the operations of our networking platforms which include SASE, Azure Networking, SD-WAN, Network Access Control (NAC), LAN infrastructures, and DHCP/DNS environment. What does the role involve?
  • Assist in the planning, building, and running of global network services.
  • Designing, operating, and troubleshooting global network platforms
  • Secure access to cloud and on-premises resources by implementing innovative and cutting-edge solutions for a growing remote user base.
  • Work on global switching and routing networks, focusing on cloud-based technologies.
  • Assist in developing architectural documentation and participate in architecture reviews for complex network changes.
  • In close collaboration with other Hilti cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and external partners, you will provide innovative and reliable services - enabling our employees to connect to our customers and to offer excellent solutions and services to our customers worldwide.
  • Assist in the roadmap definition for the service including demand, requirements, lifecycle, and prerequisites (e.g. dependencies with other service roadmaps).
  • Roadmap definition, architecture design, implementation, and 3rd Level incident/problem management
  • Stay informed about external trends to devise continuous service improvements.
  • Ensure proper access controls are in place in line with the IT control objectives.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.

What you need is:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, required.
  • Master's degree, preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of networking principles, with specialization in at least two of the following: Forward Proxy (Zscaler or similar), ZTNA / SDP solutions, Azure Networking, SD-WAN, Network Access Control (802.1X authentication), DNS, DHCP, Switching, and Routing Protocols
  • A strong security mindset and understanding of network security best practices, standards, and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with an affinity for IT technologies including understanding of standard networking and security protocols.
  • Excitement for new technologies, great learning ability & willingness.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into reliable and value-creating technical solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and team skills in an international environment.
  • Fluent in English (verbally and written).
