Primary Purpose of Role:

The Information Security Engineer II role is accountable for the creation and execution of strategies to safeguard QuikTrip's digital infrastructure, data, and networks from both deliberate and accidental breaches, alterations, or destruction. This position involves the design, evaluation, project management, documentation, and support of security solutions for QuikTrip. A key focus of this role is to prioritize tasks effectively and continuously seek enhancements in processes and tools. An ideal candidate for the Information Security Engineer II position will possess a diverse background that extends beyond information security, encompassing areas such as client-server architecture, networking, and software development. This role demands the ability to excel in dynamic, high-pressure environments and relies heavily on collaborative efforts.

Work Environment: Fully Onsite

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the deployment of technological solutions as part of a collaborative team. - 75% of total responsibilities
  1. Guide, strategize, design, and execute solution architectures at a superior quality level in both waterfall and agile project methodologies alongside other IT professionals.
  2. Enhance automation of processes for provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring of solutions to minimize disruption to operational teams.
  3. Engage with users and technical personnel to assess requirements, propose designs, conduct cost analyses, plan projects, and coordinate tasks for the installation of security solutions while ensuring adherence to industry best practices, standards, and compliance mandates at QuikTrip.
  4. Develop procedural and support documentation for the transition of solutions to operational teams and/or end users.
  5. Complete administrative duties as dictated by QuikTrip policies, procedures, or processes.
  6. Assume the Technical Lead role within QuikTrip's project framework.
Provide operational support for escalated issues. - 20% of total responsibilities
  1. Diagnose, analyze, and resolve intricate security challenges and associated risks.
  2. Address issues and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
  3. Offer guidance and leadership to the Information Security Engineering team and the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC).
  4. Deliver high-level technical support and assistance to the CSOC in resolving complex challenges, acting as a point of escalation.
  5. Collaborate with vendors, business partners, and clients to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
Research and propose technology standards. - 5% of total responsibilities
  1. Investigate and remain informed about best practices in security configurations and standards.
  2. Collaborate with other engineering teams to establish hardening/security guidelines.
  3. Participate in assessing system and network security configurations and policies, recommending modifications as necessary to the engineering team.
Organizational Position:

Reports to: Infrastructure Engineering Manager

Internal Relationships:

Within the Organization: IT internal staff, QuikTrip management, and the broader user community.
External Relationships: Hardware and software vendors, professional security organizations, and user groups.

Position Requirements:

Essential Education: Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security or a related technology field. Multiple industry certifications in Cyber Security, Systems Administration, and/or Networking.
Essential Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in the design and administration of security technologies within large, complex environments, particularly in multi-region retail. Experience in cryptography, network defense, endpoint protection, forensics, data protection, and incident response. Familiarity with data center technologies and concepts, including services, security, infrastructure design, and disaster recovery practices. Experience troubleshooting IT systems. Knowledge of compliance standards such as HIPAA, PCI, and SOX.
Preferred Experience: Comprehensive experience in all facets of security technologies and knowledge in supporting and developing extensive, complex security environments. Experience in planning and executing a technical backlog to foster continuous improvement in technology and practices.
Essential Skills: Proficiency with next-generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, network access control, email and web security, digital forensics, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability scanning, data protection, credential management, certificate oversight, Multi-Factor Authentication, access brokering, SIEM, public cloud compliance, and security automation and orchestration technologies. Competence in planning and monitoring project execution. The ability to communicate effectively with both business and IT personnel in a professional manner.
Preferred Skills: Practical experience with Active Directory and Microsoft and/or Linux operating systems, networking, identity and access management, wireless networking and security, penetration testing, incident response, and application security methodologies. Understanding of encryption systems and methodologies. Experience in scripting or software development.

Additional Criteria: Availability for on-call support 24/7. Ability to perform under pressure and provide direction to IT management and other engineers during critical situations. Must possess knowledge across various domains and be capable of transitioning between them swiftly. Some travel may be necessary.

This role requires the employee to maintain accessibility via phone and/or email and/or have access to calendar, contacts, and data while away from the office.

Compensation Range: $103,300-$129,200
