Description:

The main functions for the maintenance technician role would be to repair, maintain and install all production machinery, solve complex problems primarily on electrical/electronic systems (Need to have electrical and mechanical aptitude). Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installation of machinery relating to food processing equipment, physical structures, mechanical and electrical systems.

Perform a wide variety of diagnostics, methods, procedures and techniques to layout, install, align, repair, overhaul and maintain various types of machines, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems and operations.


• Apply knowledge of PLC, servo drives, and servo motors errors. (Will not need to have knowledge of programing PLCs but will need to be able to diagnose any issues and report what you identify).


• Reading and understanding blueprints and manuals for the industrial machines in the facility to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.


• Running mechanical devices to listen for problems. Using precision measuring and testing instruments.


• Fabricate small parts as needed to minimize downtime.


• Following a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure uptime/downtime targets are achieved.


• Managing downtime by collaborating across departments to exchange information on mechanical issues.


• Keeping communication high at all times across different shifts/departments and following documentation procedures and standards.


• Ensure all maintenance activities are in compliance with federal, state and local laws and codes, as well as company policies which govern safety, food safety.


• Follow GMP


• Ensures that safety is given top priority in work execution, including Arc/Shock Hazard safety, confined spaces, lockdowns, Hazardous materials, hard tools safety, etc.


• Collaborating with engineering team to align on operation of new machinery.


• Communicate with broader engineering team to discuss machine operations, repairs, etc., to ensure optimal maintenance schedules and outcomes.


• Performs other duties as required

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

-Candidate must have either EXPERIENCE (preferred) or a vocational certification.

-5+ years of electro-mechanical experience

-A good understanding of PLCs (Not necessarily looking for programmers just a candidate who can identify any issues. Will not need to know how reprogram/ fix issues)(Able to look at IO and see input/output)(Mainly troubleshooting)

-Will be working with Low Voltage only up to 480

-Food Manufacturing background would be most ideal (or pharmaceutical) Must have experience working in either or both.
