Drives safety, guest satisfaction, Team Member satisfaction (TSAT), financial results, and special events for Technical & Show Operations. Directs and develops the team and advises on high-risk technical situations for Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for strategically planning and directing Technical & Show Entertainment functions such as Audio, Video, Lighting, Rigging, Staging, Show Controls, Special Effects, and Facilities to plan, coordinate and manage all staffing levels necessary to ensure that all goals and objectives are met. Manages the operational budgeting, planning, and developing goals & timelines to achieve the scopes and maintenance efforts.
  • Responsible for the technical quality assurance of all Technical, Show and Facilities operations and installations at UHU. Oversees facilities maintenance efforts including routine, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, etc. while ensuring the adherence to OSHA and Universal safety standards. Manages the contracting of third-party vendors such as Electrical, HVAC, restaurant equipment maintenance, and other specialized facilities maintenance in partnership with tenant management procedures and standards.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and mentoring to achieve maximum results and empower the management team to drive and make decisions. Creates a culture that is supportive and respectful to support a positive environment. Partners with General Manager and Human Resources to manage concerns and issues in a timely manner and to resolution.
  • Ensures realistic development of budgets that meet organizational requirements of satisfying Team Member and guest needs while remaining efficient in development of budgets. Analyzes results and adjusts the operation as necessary, responding reasonably to existing conditions and controlling costs.
  • Drives and executes plans for Technical & Show Operations team that directly affect TSAT, GSAT, and safety standards while utilizing existing tools to measure and monitor performance against targets and develops appropriate action plans to achieve or exceed targets. Collaborates with UDX counterparts to ensure operational and development initiatives are effectively executed.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information which pertains to the Technical & Show Operations team to all impacted parties including but not limited to Entertainment team members, Divisional department heads, and third-party vendors. Ensures all Entertainment operating and safety standards are maintained, monitors related issues, and assesses industry trends to mitigate hazards.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Expert knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 working standards.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA, ANSI, and ESTA standards are preferred.
  • Must have ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and be fully knowledgeable of current regulations pertaining to Facilities Management.
  • High degree of tact is required and ability to partner with departments across the business is critical. Creative problem solving with high level of collaboration required.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 9+ years in professional theater, theme park, corporate entertainment, or hospitality; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Required relevant state certifications including OSHA 30-Hour.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Will require a flexible schedule including late night/weekend/holiday hours based on business needs.
  • Some domestic travel may be required.
