Identifies system requirements and demands for modified objectives, procedures, techniques, and equipment and evaluate timeliness of needed modifications. Identifies the need for and adequacy of technical documentation required to maintain and certify E-IDS. Provides advice to second-level engineering support teams.

Based on technical expertise, incumbent provides input to supervisor and management on plans, resources, schedules, priorities, and goals of a project.

Maintains an awareness of the status and progress of all projects within the assigned technical area and recommends adjustments in accordance with established priorities.

Incumbent reviews work of project engineers on complex projects for technical accuracy and adequacy. Provides input to supervisors and management on technical performance, progress, and training needs of project engineers and computer scientists/specialists.
