This position will not supervise anyone.

Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources with a dotted line to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist ("Generalist") is responsible for assisting with recruitment, hiring, benefits, training, and employee relations at all properties. The Generalist will partner with leadership teams at each property and departments with the guidance of the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Manager to create and support each hotel's strategy, ensure the hotel is hiring the best qualified talent, reduce/eliminate liability, providing a consistent and fair interpretation of policies and procedures to guide leadership, enable associates to be successful in assisting our client's guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Manages all recruiting and hiring functions from posting positions and screening applicants, processing all background screenings, to assisting employees with new hire paperwork, including ADP or any equivalent HRIS system.
Manage all HR administrative duties as required for the hotel properties.
Assist in the planning, organizing, and facilitating employee functions, events, and newsletters.
Interprets policies for employees and managers as needed. Ensures consistent application of hotel policies, standard operating procedures (SOP) and practices.
Assist in the managing of the employee performance review process to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient completion and transfer of information to Payroll.
Will assist the HR department with the facilitation and coordination of training activities.
Maintains utmost discretion and confidentiality of all company, employee, and property issues.
Accurately and efficiently complete all human resources record keeping and reporting functions in compliance with any company standard operating procedure, state of federal and city ordinance when deemed necessary.
Handles the day-to-day administration of benefit plans, including benefits enrollments to proactively market existing plans and Wellness initiatives, employee & manager questions, benefit terminations, and reconciliation of benefit invoicing to eliminate delinquency billing.
Assists Director of Human Resources in the planning for annual HR budget.
Completes all human resources record keeping and reporting functions through HRIS system, E-Verify, I9 Audit, and all human resources data filing systems.
Ensure that all three properties are in compliance with all State & Federal laws and as directed by the Director of Human Resources
Manages uniform inventories for all applicable positions.
Process all job offers for all hotel job openings.
Process all terminations request from department managers based on final review from the Director of Human Resources.
Will assist in the investigations, employee coaching & counseling, performance development plans, discipline, and terminations, including acting as Spanish translator as deemed necessary.
Assist in managing and processing of all workers' comp claims with the insurance adjuster and with the designated occupational clinic and work with department managers to access risk and inform the Director of Human Resources.
Process all employment leave processes and compliance to policies based on eligibility not limited to FMLA/CFRA but to include leave programs designated in Employee Handbook and those by State/Federal Laws. This process will include payroll process and benefit collection of premiums as well as monitor/track all leaves of absences. Have an interactive process with employees once every two weeks.
Keep management and Director of Human Resources aware of any unusual operation or unethical behavior or occurrences and/or significant deviations from policies and procedures.
Assist with all employee-related Company functions or programs (i.e., Holiday Party, Hotel Anniversary, Monthly Birthdays/Anniversaries, etc.).
Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

BA/BS degree in business/management or hotel management (or related field) is preferred.
Alternatively, an Associate's degree in business/management, plus a minimum of two (2) years HR experience in the hospitality (hotel) industry; fast-paced Human Resources Department would be highly preferred. Candidates with hotel experience as a Senior HR Coordinator or entry level Human Resources Generalist in the hotel industry or a Human Resources Management certification will be considered.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Experience in ADP WorkforceNow is preferred.
Bi-lingual in Spanish, speaking and writing, would be a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL WORK DEMANDS:Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Regular and on-time attendance is critical.
Hours occasionally exceed 40 hours per week.
Ability to stand during shifts when needed but more than likely will be stationary
