Position Summary:
The Sr. Manager, Warehouse & Distributions Operations is responsible for the overall warehouse and distribution logistics for Straumann US operations. The position will provide strategic and transformational leadership for warehouse and logistics functions. This role involves strategic planning, team management, and continuous improvement initiatives to support the company's operational goals and customer satisfaction.


Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Hire, supervise, schedule, and train warehouse personnel across all shifts.

• Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide training and development opportunities for team members.

• Develop and maintain relevant control activities in an ISO certified and FDA regulated medical device distribution environment.

• Ensure inventory activities are performed robustly according to guidelines, procedures, F&A planning, and statutory closing calendar.

• Liaison with Quality/ Regulatory teams to build a strong quality culture to ensure 0 non-conformances in a fast-paced work environment.

• Provide strong support for FDA inspections, internal audits, and CAPA closures.

• Drive high engagement within the teams to consistently meet daily service levels.

• Work with multiple stakeholders in other countries to resolve import and export issues, product detentions, etc.

• Direct warehouse automation, implementation, and daily operation/maintenance.

• Manage 3rd party shipping carrier relationships.

• Develop and monitor department budget as required.

• Identify and execute on opportunities for improving customer experience.

• Utilize data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance and drive operational excellence.

• Lead continuous improvement program and track performance.


• May travel up to 10%.

• Other duties as assigned.

Management Responsibilities:
This position manages the following positions:
3 Warehouse Supervisors, 3 Team Leads, and 60+ Warehouse Associates


Physical Attributes:

• May sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.

• Traverse long distances through the building.

• Push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs.

• Bend, crouch, and reach continuously while performing required job tasks.

• Spend significant time reading both on paper and on a computer.

Work Environment:

• General warehouse and office environment.

• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Engineering, or related field OR 10+ years' progressive leadership experience working for a global organization in a supply chain or manufacturing operations environment.

• 5+ years of experience in building and managing semi-automated warehouse or production systems.

• 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining quality programs in an FDA regulated environment.

• 2+ years working with SAP WMS/ TMS systems.

• 5+ years of experience partnering with or managing Continuous Improvement teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of end-to-end supply chain management including MRP, DRP, ERP, forecasting, inventory management.

• Experience in working in a fast-paced FDA/ISO regulated environment and managing CAPA's.

• Medical device or related industry experience.

• Extensive project management experience.

• Ability to meet aggressive deadlines, manage multiple projects and locations simultaneously and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented work environment.

• Demonstrated leadership qualities, able to engage and influence team and external partners.

• Strong ability to create management reporting to detail current status and future plans.

• Experience with 3PL and large carrier network.

• Experience managing a team of 50+ employees.

• Greenbelt certification in Lean Six Sigma Methodologies.
