Position Overview

Our automated systems for order pickup and delivery leverage a blend of robotics and software to manage substantial volumes of online transactions, optimizing operations for supervisors and enhancing the shopping experience for customers. We are in search of a Senior Manager to oversee a team focused on the development of our Robot Control System software. In this pivotal role, you will guide the ongoing improvement and upkeep of this software, mentoring and managing a skilled group of engineers tackling intricate challenges in tasking, routing, and orchestrating swarms of robots.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the development of reactive microservices in Java that effectively manage customer orders and synchronize robot operations within our ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with leaders from our electrical, mechanical, and embedded systems teams to establish clear software requirements.
  • Ensure that the software produced by the engineering team is both scalable and maintainable.
  • Provide guidance and growth opportunities for team members by fostering a collaborative work environment and coaching for success.
  • Set performance benchmarks and conduct regular evaluations, offering recognition and rewards for achievements.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience managing a team focused on software development for robotics or automation systems.
  • Knowledge of reactive microservices or experience in building event-driven distributed systems utilizing asynchronous actors.
  • Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka.
  • Demonstrated success in agile methodologies, iterative development, and adaptability.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
