Ziegler CAT has an opening for an Application Engineer in the OEM division. This key position will provide engineering support to OEM customers and Ziegler Power Systems Sales Personnel. This is a fast paced position with a broad scope of responsibility and autonomy while you work with customers to design CAT engines into their chassis. This process requires initiative and creativity as you work directly with our customers engineering team to make every installation a success.

Responsibilities:

  • Meets with customer to define total requirements
  • Works directly with the customer's engineering personnel to analyze their power systems needs and assists them in finding the most efficient product solution
  • Compile technical data required for our customers to make informed decisions on whether to purchase our engines or not
  • Participate in technical sales calls and presentations Engages in customer engine forecasting and engine orders to minimize inventory
  • Acts as key negotiator on all commercial aspects of assigned accounts
  • Develop or package 3D drawing packages of the engine and related components recommended for each customer
  • Provide on-site field support to OEM customers to assist with the integration of our engine
  • Complete field audits and testing of installed engine installations in OEMequipment
  • Manages customer engine inventory, forecasts and engine orders
  • Documents the engine and component specifications required by individual customers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience with HS Diploma/GED
  • 2 year industryrelated experience preferred
  • 1 year sales experience preferred
  • Acceptabledriving record and valid driver's licenserequired
  • Strong customerservice and communication skills
  • Strong PCknowledgewith MS Office experience
  • Strongelectrical and mechanical aptitude
  • ElectricalPower, Electrician, Generator or Reciprocating Engine experience desired
  • Personal Characteristics: Customer Focus, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Sociability, Achievement Orientation

Travel:

Up to 25% travel

Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing
  • Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be moderate at times.
