POSITION DUTIES

General Purpose: The community engagement liaison will guide stakeholder and community\r
engagement strategies to inform the work of the Innovation Team.\r
\r

Responsibilities:\r
\r
\r
Develop and implement strategies to engage diverse community groups�\r
Execute bidirectional engagement efforts in order to ensure alignment between Innovation Team priorities and the needs of Marylanders�\r
Organize and facilitate community meetings, forums, and events to gather input and feedback�\r
Create and distribute materials to inform Marylanders about government programs, services, and initiatives�\r
Establish and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, organizations, and Marylanders�\r
Collaborate with external organizations, such as nonprofits and businesses, to support community-driven projects and initiatives�\r
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of engagement strategies and programs�\r
Prepare reports and presentations on community engagement activities and outcomes�\r
Assist with questions, needs, and concerns – both internally and externally – by handling, delegating, or escalating for the attention of other members of the Innovation Team�\r
Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders both within and outside state government, including other government officials, agency heads, staff members, and external partners�\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

\r
Experience in community outreach, public relations, or a similar role�\r
A track record of demonstrating and successfully applying the following characteristics:\r

Excellent ability to simplify information and concepts, to formulate options and\r
recommendations, and to communicate with all levels of management and\r
workforce to achieve objectives�\r
Effective listener - probes, surfaces, and shares new ideas and ways of doing\r
things�\r
