Pride Health is hiring a Medical Lab Scientist I to support our client’s medical facility based in Shelton CT 06484. This is a 4+ Month with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization


Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist I

Location: Shelton CT 06484

Salary: $35-$40 per hour

Shift: 8 am - 4:30 pm Eastern

Duration: 4 months+


*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.


Candidate must have 3+ years of experience performing Flow Cytometry on hematology specimens.

We are specifically looking for someone experienced in Flow Cytometry – Leukemia / Lymphoma Immunophenotyping



Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) to join our clinical laboratory team. As an integral part of our healthcare system, you will perform a variety of routine and complex laboratory procedures to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:


Evaluate specimen acceptability and perform testing according to established protocols.

Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure accurate results.

Make technical decisions and troubleshoot problems related to testing.

Prepare, test, and assess new reagents and controls for quality assurance.

Deliver accurate and timely test results to contribute to patient care.

Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures as required.

Monitor and replenish laboratory supplies and assist with specimen processing.

Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety protocols.


Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent.

0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.

State Medical Technologist license as required by regulations (if applicable).

ASCP or AMT certification required based on local regulations.

Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.

Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and organizational abilities.

Ability to pass standardized color vision screening.

Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs.


Additional Requirements:


Experience in generalist roles including Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, etc., with Blood Banking experience preferred.

Experience with Meditech is a plus.

Must meet requirements for color vision screening and TB screening.
