Philadelphia, United States ESP Enterprises, Inc. Full time

Job Description: Mechanical Engineer - Rotary Gate Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team and focus on resolving ongoing issues with our rotary gate installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing the current design, identifying the root causes of the problems, and developing innovative solutions to improve the reliability and durability of our rotary gates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Investigate and analyze the collar insert and bolt issues causing the widening of the tree tops and the breakage of bolts at the junction of threaded and unthreaded portions.

2. Develop and test alternative designs, materials, or methods to prevent the widening of the tree tops and the shearing of bolts.

3. Address the issue of control head mounting bolts being sheared off by redesigning the anchoring system to ensure a more robust and reliable connection between the control head and the gate canopy.

4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, installation, and maintenance, to ensure the successful implementation of design improvements.

5. Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for the improved rotary gate designs.

6. Conduct rigorous testing and validation of the redesigned components to ensure they meet or exceed performance and durability requirements.

7. Provide technical guidance and support to the installation and maintenance teams to minimize rotary gate downtime and improve overall system reliability.

8. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and materials science to continuously improve the performance of our rotary gates.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with experience in rotary gates or similar mechanical systems

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant design tools

- Knowledge of materials science and experience in selecting appropriate materials for specific applications

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

If you are a passionate Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record of solving complex mechanical issues and delivering reliable solutions, we encourage you to apply for this challenging and rewarding opportunity. Join our team and help us revolutionize the performance and reliability of our rotary gate systems.
