Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday (Start between 7:00 am – 9:00 am and leave around 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between Algood employees and the HR team, both in-person and electronically (WorkRede App), by resolving or directing their requests or concerns to the appropriate HR function or representative
  • Assist in all aspects of HR by performing the following tasks:
  • Maintenance of personnel and confidential non-exempt files
  • Process benefit information in Paycom’s benefits module (new hires, terminations, QEs, etc.)
  • Maintain all aspects of recording and distributing employee benefit compliance notifications (ERISA, ACA Annual Notices, HIPAA Policy, etc.)
  • Create employee benefit packets for new hires.
  • Meet with new hires to review benefit options.
  • Learn, assist, and act as a backup when needed for new-hire orientation and benefit meetings.
  • Learn, assist, and act as backup as needed for hourly payroll.
  • Communicate with employees when we are notified of a death in their family, send announcements, and order flowers/memorial gifts when appropriate.
  • Coordinate employee life event recognitions (births, illnesses, marriages)
  • Schedule and coordinate HR Department meetings, attend, and take meeting minutes.
  • Assist the department with employee activities, including employee luncheons, annual picnic, departmental recognition, etc.
  • Update communication monitor bi-weekly (birthdays, anniversaries, local events)
  • Create and distribute monthly birthday and anniversary calendars.
  • Ongoing maintenance of the Algood Apparel Program
  • Provide occasional backup as requested to our Safety & Training Coordinator by assisting with Safety Skills guidance for employees, boot and safety glasses vouchers, and other administrative duties as needed.
  • Gain knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity, engagement, and retention.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Company: Algood began business at its Louisville plant in August 1985. The plant, whose previous owner was The Beatrice Companies, had been producing food products for nearly 75 years. In 1985, its primary product was private-label peanut butter. However, over the years, Algood has invested significant capital to expand its markets to include industrial, contract manufacturing, food service, the U.S. Government, and export.
