Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Environmental Consultant at Stevens EHS Consulting, LLC. The consultant will be responsible for tasks such as report writing, environmental compliance, prepare calculations, and utilizing environmental regulatory knowledge. This role is based in Chattanooga, TN with flexibility for remote work.


Typical Tasks

  • Office work required to develop calculations, reports, applications, and other documentation for client’s environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Telephone contact with co-workers, company management, and client representatives in support of environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Visits to various industrial sites, which may require the following:

Some travel by use of personal vehicle.

Lift/carry items or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Walk over uneven ground.

Climb steps/ladders.

Work outdoors under various weather conditions.

  • Assist in various marketing efforts to develop new and retain existing clients.
  • Other related tasks, as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications

  • Skilled in report writing
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles for calculation of emissions from manufacturing processes
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and drawings
  • Ability to understand environmental regulations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and regulators - both written and verbal
  • Willingness and mental and physical ability to perform the duties required
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to pursue relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer, CHMM, etc.) are a plus
