POSITION SUMMARY

The Material and Color Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of material development, material compliance, and the color approval process. They will maintain the development and quality of all fabrications by serving as the liaison between the Merchandising, Design, Product Development and the factories. Key skills required to be successful in this position include: the ability to provide fabric and content guidance to achieve the desired result and have strong communication skills with both the internal team and all factories.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Align with Merchandising and Design on overall fabric direction for the season to propose options that follow the trends, performance, and product requirements.
  • Work with all factories on new materials and technologies that are on-brand to showcase to the internal teams.
  • Request, review, and log all materials test reports from development through production, ensuring company compliance standards are met.
  • Work with Product Development to manage milestones to insure on-time delivery of quality product that is ready to go-to-market.
  • Come to the table with solutions when fabric/trim quality issues come in development and bulk.
  • Manage print and color development from creation to final approval. Track strike-offs, lab dips and all related approval needs.
  • Order all needed Pantone swatches and create physical color boards for reference.
  • Assist with maintaining fabric and color libraries in our PLM.
  • Responsible for ensuring all lab dips, bulk dye lots and strikeoffs are approved and production ready at specific deadlines.
  • Monitor and maintain the development communication with vendors each day.
  • Be able to travel internationally for key development milestones and building of vendor partnerships.
  • Other duties may be assigned.



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

  • College Degree in Fabric/Material Engineering or related course of study.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of fabric related experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Depth in knowledge of fabric engineering and development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of teams.
  • Attention to detail, well organized, and calendar driven.
  • Excellent time management skills are necessary with superb organization.
