POSITION DEFINITION:

Along with forecasting needs for applications support resources through coordination with the information technology team, helping the user community build the application expertise necessary to support current and future business functions, successfully implementing and managing project plans, and assisting in delivering the appropriate knowledge transfers and training activities. The Applications System Manager ensures readiness for change and accountability, as well as address support-related communication to the business organization.


ACCOUNTABILITY:

The incumbent will lead the organization to its greatest potential by ensuring compliance with applicable standards, laws such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and policies and procedures relative to information technology solutions. The individual in this position is accountable for building a culture of service among their IT Team by giving them the necessary training to provide a level of service that is in line with the strategic goals of the organization.


Summary of Responsibilities


The Applications System Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of Application and System Specialists to maintain continuous support on a 24x7 basis, with a focus on leadership, communication and business benefits. The incumbent must have the abilities to establish relationships, manage conflicts, analyze information, and communicate at any level of the company. The Applications System Manager provides management and guidance to the team, ensuring that quality and service standards are adhered to by routinely interfacing with the all business functions for all application support matters.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops, maintains, and provides status reports on support metrics for executive management and team members, in coordination with all IT support teams

• Collaborates with the IT team to define and build standards and references, in regards to quality, performance and reusability of the developed solutions

• Develops and ensures successful implementations and/or upgrades of enterprise resource planning system (“ERP”) and ancillary systems by coordinating and partnering with business functional areas throughout the process, including business system implementation partner selection, business system deployment, testing, training and support, and process improvement initiatives

• Responsible for the projects complete lifecycle from project initiation through implementation

• Directs and coordinates business process analysis for efficiency improvements in the context of enterprise systems. Develops plans that encompass all required elements of new business processes. Documents and configures business system components to support new business processes

• Coordinates the development of applications to meet business process requirements, employ accepted change management/pilot testing procedures and retrofit application modifications if needed

• Directs the development of custom management reports to meet business performance analysis requirements

• Oversees integrity of management reports and business system transactions by continuously monitoring data for validity and consistency

• Oversees maintenance of user profiles and security for enterprise systems

• Directs coordinates and/or performs the analysis, design, planning, configuration, and documentation required to deploy new ERP system modules to meet business needs

• Directs and maintains system integrity within the deployment server and enterprise database server. Responsible for leading the planning, installation, testing, and deployment of package builds, service packs, release updates, software upgrade, and version upgrades; deployment of client software to workstations and servers

• Responsible for the design, documentation and testing of disaster recovery solution for the application environments.

• Oversees and reviews security architectural standards, database integrity, and proper testing procedures

• Mentors and develops staff. Provides guidance and assistance to the team and supervises application support procedures and priorities

• Provides user support; oversees and manages customer support issues, ensuring that ‘trouble tickets’ are resolved to customer satisfaction and key performance indicators; ensures plan and action items for better customer experience on solutions delivered

• Ensures compliance of all company policies

• Performs other duties as necessary to support Company objectives.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems or related discipline.

• Ten (10) years of ERP system (Oracle, PeopleSoft JD Edwards, or SAP) application implementation/support experience; preferably in JD Edwards/Oracle Enterprise One Experience

• Experience managing other enterprise systems in support of business needs

• Seven (7) years of project management experience

• Five (5) years of supervisory experience

• Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills.
