HOW A PROGRAM MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program area with annual revenues up to $25M
  • Will work directly with government employees and contractors to ensure assigned projects are successfully completed on-time.
  • On-site face-to-face performance is required at the customer's site in Monterey, California.
  • This effort supports the Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center’s (FNMOC) Information Services Department. The department manages and maintains a portfolio of high-priority, high visibility, IT systems on the classified and unclassified side to address and meet the strategic needs of the Navy’s Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) mission.
  • Position will provide focused Project Management support to minimize risks for the FNMOC Information technology (IT) Life Cycle Hardware (LCH) refresh
  • effort. This work will encompass two areas: a) The Infrastructure technology refresh and b) the coordinated upgrade of Linux clusters.
  • This will require responsibility for leading teams on large complex
  • projects while being responsible for the performance, cost, scope, schedule, quality, and associated business measurements/milestones.
  • Tasks include writing and maintaining Systems Engineering Plans,
  • Project plans, Concepts of Operations, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Integrated Master Plans, Integrated Master Schedules, Transition Plans, and Program Management Plans, as well as technical and executive presentations and briefs that incorporate these plans.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university which provides substantial knowledge of the information sciences.

Required Experience:

  • Eleven years of intensive and progressive experience demonstrating the required project management and IT proficiency levels.

Required Technical Skills:

  • IT Project Management

Security Clearance Level:

  • Interim Secret required to start; must be able to obtain Secret Clearance

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional communications and leadership skill. The ability to smoothly guide a project as requirements change and blocks develop.

Preferred Skills:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

Location:

  • Hybrid at the Customer's Site in Monterey, California
  • 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Citizenship Required:

  • US Citizenship
