Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Industrial Hygiene and Safety Professional position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.


Salary: $78/hr - $83/hr

Location: Onsite

Citizenship: US citizenship Required

Work Schedule: 4/10 with opportunity for overtime (not required)

Clearance: Ability to obtain a Q clearance

Per Diem: Authorized


Impact

The Industrial Hygiene and Safety (IHS) professional plays a vital role in safeguarding the health and well-being of our employees. You will develop, recommend, and implement programs, policies, and procedures to identify, measure, evaluate, and control potential health and safety hazards. This position may involve providing daily IHS support or managing and administering institutional health and safety programs.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop, recommend, and implement programs, policies, and procedures related to industrial hygiene and safety.
  • Identify, measure, evaluate, and control potential health and safety hazards.
  • Provide daily IHS support to programmatic or facility organizations.
  • Manage and administer one or more institutional health and safety programs or services.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments of work areas and processes.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents.
  • Provide training and education to employees on IHS practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Stay current on relevant regulations and standards.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (HARD REQUIREMENT).
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in industrial hygiene and safety.
  • Experience developing and implementing IHS programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Desired Skills

  • Experience working in a secured environment.
  • Proficiency with Oracle and CTS software (training provided if not available).
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (Q clearance preferred).


Education and Experience Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience is typically required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Post-graduate coursework may be preferred.
