Shift Information:

  • 7:00 PM – 5:00 PM


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of PPAP/Submission process systems or equivalent
  • Knowledge of internal auditing
  • Exposure to OEM specifications, standards, and quality systems
  • Knowledge of AIAG core tools such as FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, APQP, and PPAP


General Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills, ability to communicate efficiently with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to receive training to perform the job on an ongoing basis concurrent with Decostar business operations


Essential Functions:

  • Understand the employee’s rights under the OSHA Act, EEOC, and FLSA, and do not allow for discrimination against any employee exercising their rights
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to set good workplace standards and ensure all employees maintain those standards
  • Ensure all accidentals or injuries are reported immediately and actively participate in the accident investigation and completion of all open action items
  • Knowledge of general workplace health and safety regarding the public and visitors to Decostar
  • Work with program managers, program engineers, and manufacturing staff to coordinate all PPAP activities and ensure accurate and on-time submission to customers’ systems (i.e., SQMS, B2B portal supply power, etc.)
  • Update customers on PPAP status and timing regularly
  • Ensure effective communication and containment of quality issues identified by customers (travel to customer’s locations may be required)
  • Ensure effective root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions are implemented for customer quality issues; ensure this information is uploaded into the appropriate customer database
  • Ensure every customer complaint is responded to within the customer-specified timeframe
  • Establish boundary samples with the customer for subjective quality issues
  • Assist manufacturing departments in developing their Control Plans and Work Instructions following their PFMEAs, Process Flows, Decostar’s quality system procedures, and customer requirements
  • Participate in Decostar’s cross-functional APQP meetings to review open issues and activities that need to be resolved or acted upon
  • Conduct supplier quality system surveys according to ISO.IATF 16949 requirements
  • Assist the Supplier Quality Engineer by reviewing and approving supplier PPAPS and attending supplier run-at-rate trials as designated
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and activities to ensure the meeting of departmental performance objectives
  • Perform job duties within the guidelines of the Decostar Supplier Quality Manual and ISO/IATF 16949 procedures
  • Perform other tasks as required


Physical Demands:

This position may require the following to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to stand, walk, or climb stairs for a minimum of 8 hours continuously
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally


Travel:

  • Travel within and outside of the US is required
