Walker Cole International is currently searching for a Business Development Director to focus on R&D licensing opportunities with biotech partners. Our client is a global pharmaceutical company with clinical stage programs in both US and European regions.


As the Business Development Director you will be responsible for:


  • Lead due diligence and scientific assessment for rare disease therapeutic areas.
  • Develop the company reputation as an elite partner for commercialisation of assets.
  • Support and in some cases lead deal negotiations.
  • Define and execute business development strategy with focus on partner licensing, strategic partnerships and M&A activity.
  • Cross functional engagement with Commercial, R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs and Technical Operations.
  • As the Business Development, you will lead long-term development of late stage and commercialised asset portfolios.


The successful applicant for the Business Development Director, you will demonstrate the following:


  • Degree educated, MSc or PhD is desirable.
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry experience
  • Work experience in Business Development for Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and/or Academic R&D.
  • Deal sheet track record of M&A and licensing agreements.
  • Strong preference for late stage, commercialised asset deal activity.
