Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Server DBA with strong Azure SQL Server migration experience. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SQL Server administration and extensive experience in migrating SQL Server databases from 2018 to 2019. This role requires a local candidate who can work onsite in New Jersey for 3 days a week.


Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration: Manage and administer SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.

Migration Expertise: Lead and execute the migration of SQL Server databases from 2018 to 2019, leveraging strong Azure skills.

Azure SQL: Utilize Azure SQL capabilities for database management, migration, and optimization.

Performance Tuning: Monitor and tune database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions for optimization.

Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement robust backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.

Security Management: Ensure database security by implementing best practices for access control, encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Collaboration: Work closely with development and IT teams to support database-related needs and projects.


Qualifications and Skills:

Experience: 10–12 years of total experience as a SQL Server DBA with strong Azure skills.


Technical Skills:

Proficiency in SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Extensive experience in migrating SQL Server databases from 2018 to 2019.

Strong expertise in Azure SQL, including migration, management, and optimization.

Solid understanding of performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.

Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.

Documentation: Proficient in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation.
